DyeMansion is expanding its PowerShot range. The new system brings industrial post-processing to smaller operations as well
Industrial-grade post-processing does not necessarily require large-scale equipment or high production volumes. DyeMansion is developing a new, compact system called PowerShot, which is designed to make tried-and-tested cleaning and surface finishing technologies accessible to a wider range of users.
Post-processing is an integral part of professional 3D manufacturing. For parts produced using powder-based technologies, residual powder must be removed after printing and, in many applications, the surface must also be treated. As the role of 3D printing in manufacturing grows, so too does the need to standardise these processes and reduce their reliance on manual labour.
The new DyeMansion PowerShot addresses precisely this need.
When an industrial solution doesn’t have to be big
Until now, DyeMansion has primarily offered its PolyShot Cleaning and PolyShot Surfacing technologies via industrial systems designed for larger production facilities. The new compact PowerShot is intended to make this technology accessible to companies for which such equipment would be unnecessarily large in terms of capacity or the level of automation.
It is aimed, for example , at service centres, corporate innovation and development departments, or OEM manufacturers with smaller production volumes.
The reason is simple: the manufacturing landscape is changing. Whilst some companies operate several large-format 3D printers at high utilisation rates, others base their production on a larger number of smaller systems operating in parallel. Post-processing therefore needs the same flexibility as 3D printing itself.
Cleaning and surface finishing
The new PowerShot utilises PolyShot Cleaning and PolyShot Surfacing technologies. The former is used to remove residual powder from printed parts, whilst the latter enables their subsequent surface treatment.
Both processes can be used separately or combined, depending on the requirements of a specific production run. The system is designed for parts produced using powder-based technologies such as MJF, SLS, SAF or HSS.
The result is more repeatable post-processing and a simpler path from the printed part to the finished product – in other words, exactly what DyeMansion refers to as the ‘Print-to-Product’ workflow.
PowerShot Go: a new addition to the DyeMansion portfolio
The compact PowerShot will not stand alone in DyeMansion’s portfolio. It is designed to complement existing solutions, including the VX1 system for vapour smoothing surface finishing, and to offer a suitable combination for smaller printing systems and production facilities that do not yet require high-capacity or highly automated post-processing.
The development of the new system is also taking place in conjunction with the launch of the HP Multi Jet Fusion 1200, for which it is intended to serve as a suitable post-processing solution. The shared aim is to bring industrial technologies into a more compact format and enable their use by a wider range of manufacturers.
What will PowerShot Go offer?
DyeMansion plans to unveil the new system in full at the Formnext 2026 trade fair.
PowerShot Go thus represents an interesting shift in the field of post-processing: professional cleaning and surface finishing are gradually becoming more accessible even to manufacturing facilities that do not handle large volumes of 3D printing.
