Stratasys Fortus 450mc Gen III
Industrial FDM 3D printer for functional prototypes and production parts
Description of the printer
The Stratasys Fortus 450mc Gen III is the latest generation of a tried-and-tested industrial FDM 3D printer designed for the production of dimensionally accurate, mechanically robust plastic parts. It builds on the long-established Fortus 450mc platform and features updated hardware, greater process stability and optimisation for demanding industrial applications.
The 3D printer is designed for continuous operation in development, testing and small-batch production environments, where repeatable quality, material consistency and long-term reliability are key.
Industrial materials
The Stratasys Fortus 450mc Gen III is a robust industrial FDM system capable of working with a wide range of engineering and high-performance thermoplastics – from standard industrial materials to certifiable polymers for aerospace, defence and demanding industrial applications.
Supported materials include, in particular, ULTEM™ 9085 and ULTEM™ 1010, PPSF/PPSU, PC and PC-ABS, Nylon 12CF and other engineering polymers. The system is also compatible with higher-temperature materials, including PEEK and other high-performance polymers available through the Stratasys open materials platform.
Areas of application
The Stratasys Fortus 450mc Gen III is particularly suitable for applications where the emphasis is on functionality, strength and repeatability of production:
-
functional prototypes and validation parts
-
production jigs, fixtures and assembly aids
-
small-batch production of plastic components
-
spare and service parts
-
applications in the automotive, engineering, aerospace and defence industries
3D printers are often used as a permanent production tool directly within companies, where they replace or complement conventional manufacturing technologies.
A stable process and industrial reliability
The Gen III generation brings further improvements in process control, user convenience and long-term operational stability. The system is designed for 24/7 operation, with an emphasis on minimal operator intervention and predictable production results.
